The Best Western Villa Saint Antoine is the first hotel in the Nantes vineyards area, to receive the Ecolabel Ecolabel Européen. This certification assures customers of the establishment that everything is designed to limit the environmental impact. The operation of this 43 rooms hotel offers a guarantee of comfort and three stars’ services while giving a meaningful experience to its clients.
Formerly an ancient flax mill on the banks of the Sevre river, the completely renovated hotel opened its doors in June 2010. From the beginning of the renovation, we affirmed our desire to create an eco-environment, with, for instance, the choice of a double flow venting system. We introduced responsible management practices of the hotel and the restaurant. Waste sorting, water-saving installations and LEDs in over 80% of all luminaires allow to take concrete action to protect the environment. Obtaining the European Ecolabel makes concrete the commitment of the institution and its team of 20 employees trained and involved in this approach.
To receive the European Ecolabel, 39 mandatory criteria had to be met. These criteria range from energy use to waste management and from training teams to guests’ education. The hotel is also committed to an action plan for the coming years, including the establishment of presence detectors in the corridors or toilets and composting organic waste from the restaurant.
