Three Continents Festival in Nantes
From November 21st to 29th, 2025, Nantes will vibrate to the rhythm of the 47th Festival des 3 Continents, a major gathering of African, Latin American, and Asian cinema. Less than an hour from your hotel in Clisson, this unique event invites you to discover films from far and wide, bringing stories, emotions, and new perspectives on the world.
The Official Selection will combine fiction and documentaries, both recent and restored, most of which will be screened as world, European, or French premieres.
The competing works will compete for the prestigious Montgolfières d'Or and Argent awards, the Audience Award, and the Young Jury Award.
This edition will pay tribute to three major cinematic universes, an opportunity to (re)discover masterpieces of the 7th Art:
– The complete works of Ang Lee, a figure of Taiwanese and international cinema, two-time winner of the Academy Award for Best Director.
From Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon to Brokeback Mountain, his fourteen feature films will be presented in their entirety for the first time in France.
– A focus on rare and little-known Sri Lankan cinema, with films restored thanks to a unique Franco-Sri Lankan collaboration.
– A tribute to Youssef Chahine, master of Egyptian cinema, through eight emblematic films of a committed and visionary body of work.
The special "All About Love" program will explore the thousand faces of love—passion, friendship, tenderness—and these universal bonds that cross continents.
For younger visitors, "First Steps to the 3 Continents" promises a magical first journey into the world of cinema.
