From Nantes to Clisson: a journey through the Nantes vineyards

Your stay at the Best Western Plus Villa Saint-Antoine in Clisson will be the perfect opportunity to travel the itinerary of the journey through the vineyard (Voyage dans le Vignoble).

THE wine tourism itinerary in Nantes wine country

In just a few years, the journey through the vineyard (Voyage dans le Vignoble) has become the wine tourism itinerary of Nantes wine country. Through this historical and cultural journey, discover the sublime landscapes of the south of the Loire, such as the Muscadet vineyards, the Goulaine marshes, the banks of the Sèvre Nantaise, the Tuscan city and many others!

The stages of the journey through the vineyard (Voyage dans le Vignoble)

From Nantes to Clisson, the journey is made up of several stages, combining landscapes and visits.

  • Chaussée des Moines in Vertou: this causeway allows visitors to pass from one bank of the Sèvre to the other, with a river that is still in working order (river walks, bike hire, etc.).
  • La Frémoire in Vertou: the park of the Château de La Frémoire offers a magnificent view over the Sèvre valley.
  • Porte-Vue in Château-Thébaud: the belvedere offers a panoramic view of the Pont-Caffino leisure centre 30 metres below and the vineyards of Maisdon-sur-Sèvre. You can observe an exceptional geological site with unique landforms and reddish rock with the vineyards in the background.
  • Pont Caffino in Château-Thébaud: an outdoor activity centre along the Maine River, the Caffino Bridge is nestled in an old quarry bordered by cliffs covered with vines.
  • Château du Coing at Saint-Fiacre-sur-Maine: situated on the banks of the Maine, this working vineyard offers a glimpse of the Italian-style architecture typical of this wine region.
  • Port of La Haye-Fouassière: this old port on the banks of the Sèvre recalls the river's industrial past. You can take a walk or sit down for a picnic.
  • Embarquement III in La Haye-Fouassière: a perfect playground for children!
  • Musée du Vignoble Nantais in Le Pallet: the Musée du Vignoble Nantais is nestled in a half-buried building with a bold architectural design. The 500 objects on display will allow you to learn more about the making of Muscadet.
  • Moulin du Liveau in Gorges: this former paper and flour mill has been restored and now houses a living paper museum in an idyllic setting.
  • Clisson: with its Italian-style architecture, Clisson is reminiscent of a Tuscan town. Discover its castle, its covered market and its bridge over the Sèvre.
  • Domaine de La Garenne-Lemot in Gétigné and Clisson: with its many statues and columns, this park is home to a neoclassical villa, which also serves as an exhibition space.
  • Cornelia Konrads "La Folie des Folies" in La Garenne-Lemot: German artist, Cornelia Konrads has created new follies in this park, inspired by or diverting existing sculptures.
  • Butte de La Roche in Le Loroux-Bottereau: from the top of the hill, observe the Goulaine marsh, the Muscadet vineyards and, in the distance, the city of Nantes.
  • Château de Goulaine in Haute-Goulaine: geographically, this is the first château in the Loire Valley to come from the estuary.
